The old Saxon Kingdom in Frisia was called Magna Frisia so I don't see what the issue there is. Though I will say I'm happy they went out of their way to make all of northeast Germany Polabian, it kind of sucks that they made modern Saxony/Brandenburg de jure Germany still. If anything it only exists to balance East Francia somewhat. Stem-Duchies are considered kingdoms in game terms in CK2. I would also change France, but I have no idea how. I would lose the north and combine it with Burgundy, both to resemble Lothar's domains more, to give more credit to the Burgundians who did much unifying in the area, and as a source of ongoing Franco-German disputes. There are three German states named Saxony today, while Bavaria only became a kingdom in the 1800s.Īs for Lotharingia, I don't know. Not only as a reminder of pre-Christian times, but also to enfore the power of the north under the Ottonians and the Welfs/Guelphs. Instead of a Frisian kingdom, there should be a Saxon kingdom. The Northern Marches should all be part of De Jure Slavic kingdoms at game start. Bavaria and Austria should be part of Germany (except for some of the Italian and Illyrian parts). Germany should be a kingdom full of minor dukes, and therefore too large to handle as the Emperor. Lorraine resembles the rump duchy rather than the old duchy, Bavaria and Austria are grouped togerher for convenience's sake, and Frisia is a bunch of low Dutch areas that were never historically united. Is does anyone else have a problem with the Kingdoms of the HRE in CK? The Kingdom of Germany is the game's equivalent of "Small German States" on lazy old maps.
